The Jazz Room - A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans Houston Concert reviews
Bruno Mars is the BEST!!!!
I attended the second Detroit show on Sun 9/16/18. Oh...my...God! Charlie Wilson was the opening act (I forgive him for calling out the wrong city in the beginning). I had actually seen Uncle Charlie live before so, it was a real treat seeing him again. After "Finesse" he gave us "24k Magic" and it was magical. Y'all, he is the best! Bruno, great choice having a legend open for you! When Bruno came to the stage, he opened with one of my favorite songs off of the 24k Magic album: "Finesse". He was super cute and just flawless. Loved the green and white jersey with his name on the back. I loved his setlist. Soooo funky! I think I remember him vowing to do “Bodak Yellow” in Cardi B’s honor for every show. There were also pyrotechnics throughout the show that were so exciting. He was lowkey jealous that I didn't get showered in gold confetti during the "Locked Out of Heaven" number that came later on in the setlist, but, that's okay because Detroit was showered in the love that Bruno showed us that night. I won’t go through the whole setlist, but, he did perform some of his earlier hits, including “Just the Way You Are” “Locked Out of Heaven” and of course, “Uptown Funk”. He had so much stamina, it was awesome. I bought my tickets back in February 2026 when they first went on sale, not wanting to take any chances of it being sold out too early. After seeing the show, I just had to write about it. Bruno’s vocals were incredible throughout the whole show, but, the vocals were especially lovely during “When I was Your Man”. Bruno shredded on the guitar during “Calling all My Lovelies” and jammed on the drums for his version of “Bodak Yellow”. There is nothing this man cannot do on stage. I attended the second Detroit show on Sun 9/16/18. I am so glad I went to the The Jazz Room - A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans concert. I mean, I was almost in tears. I feel like Bruno took notes from the performances of all the wonderful old school artists who have paved the way before him (James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince come to mind) and added his own flavor and energy to it, making for an unforgettable concert experience. To anyone reading this, make sure you go see The Jazz Room - A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans in concert. He will captivate you, he will make you come alive, he will engage you (so pay attention, and put that phone away!), he will make you dance, and ultimately, he will change your life.
